When faced with ignorance, hatred, and injustice in the world, it’s easy to want to fight back and become angry. When we choose to answer that call, however, we feed the energies that we are fighting in the first place. What to do? We can choose to stay in a higher vibration, and to choose which energies in the world we want to feed. Which call will we answer? Anger and reaction, or love and greater understanding? I love this story, which has always been a good reminder.

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy.
“It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”
The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

Even better, the lines from a beautiful song, “Raices y Alas” ~“Un lobo blanco, un lobo negro, los dos me piden alimento. Mas ya no quiero yo este cuento, quiero ensenarles a cantar” — “A white wolf & a black wolf are both asking me to feed them. But I am done with this story. I want to teach them to both sing!” To listen to Raices y Alas, click HERE!
